Precautions for Water Well Drilling Rigs During Transportation and Maintenance

During the transportation, assembly, disassembly and maintenance of water well drilling rigs, safety regulations shall be strictly followed to prevent malfunctions:

  • Transportation Precautions for Water Well Drilling Rigs

When moving a water well drilling rig, the center of gravity must be maintained balanced according to road conditions, site circumstances and other factors. Random drilling is prohibited at the construction site. Markings shall be properly placed for backfilled pits and ponds. When traveling on narrow roads or dangerous sections, the mast shall be lowered and the crawler retracted. For sloping sections, it is necessary to adjust the lifting angle and left-right tilt of the rig’s mast, and rotate the upper carriage to adjust the rig’s center of gravity. When there is ponding on temporary roads or construction sites, drill pipes and bits can be used to guide the movement of the rig.

  • Maintenance Precautions for Water Well Drilling Rigs
When maintaining a water well drilling rig, wait for it to cool down before starting any work to prevent personnel from being scalded by high temperatures. Maintenance on the rig’s hydraulic system shall only be performed after relieving the pressure, so as to avoid hazards caused by residual high internal pressure. When disassembling the main winch braking system of the rig, it is strictly prohibited to carry out maintenance work on the main winch under load. When detaching the connection between the right-hand lay non-rotation-resistant steel wire rope and the hoisting socket, attention must be paid to avoid rotational mechanical hazards. If the rig’s hoisting socket rotates inflexibly, causing the running steel wire rope to twist due to rotational force, measures shall be taken to prevent personnel from being caught and injured.
